Ingredients
1/2 pound ground turkey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 Tablespoon canola oil
1 medium red onion diced
2 slices of Swiss cheese
2 slices of Rye bread
Instructions
- Heat oil in pan over medium heat
- Add salt and pepper to ground turkey, mix well
- Form two round patties
- Place patties in cast iron skillet or nonstick pan
- Add onions around patties immediately
- Cook for 6-7 minutes while stirring onions
- Flip patties and cook for 6 minutes continuing to stir onions
- Add cheese and cook until melted
- Toast 2 slices of Rye bread and cut in half
- Serve patties with onions on toasted Rye bread
Tip: For a more juicy turkey burger you can mix half a beaten egg and a splash of milk to the ground turkey for extra moisture.
